Bronisława Wajszczuk (0377) z domu Sokołowska


Bronisława urodziła się w 1923 roku, prawdopodobnie na południowym przedmieściu Zamościa (na ul. Lipskiej?, lub w podmiejskiej wsi?) - "po przeciwnej stronie miasta od Sitańca". Pamięta zabawy z rówieśnikami pod Ratuszem na Rynku w Zamościu. Przychodziła tam z domu z innymi dziećmi - "nie było to daleko". Podczas wojny, we wrześniu 1942 roku została wywieziona w wyniku łapanki podczas nabożeństwa w kościele w Zamościu - (sama, bez rodziny, która prawdopodobnie później została wysiedlona przez Niemców) - na roboty przymusowe do Niemiec, w okolice Harzburga w Górach Harz'u(?), gdzie pracowała w fabryce zbrojeniowej i przy produkcji bomb lotniczych. Po wojnie, 20 stycznia 1949 roku przybyła do Kanady i początkowo zamieszkała w Walkerton w prowincji Ontario, a w 1950 roku przeniosła się do Brantford, gdzie poznała i wyszła za mąż za Lucjana (zobacz).

WAJSZCZUK, Bernice - Born in Poland and passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Lucjan Wajszczuk (1990). Cherished mother of Henry (Donna) Wajszczuk and Kristine (Jim) Woodcock. Special Babcia of Annette (Matthew) Gilgan, Susan Brockett and Diane (Mitchell) Adkins. Pra Bacia of Sydney, Holly, Sebastian and Finnegan. Dearly missed by her long time companion Mike Macyszyn. Bernice was a long time member of the Polish Seniors Club, a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and volunteer service, spanning over 40 years, with the Polish Alliance Ladies Circle. Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME , 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m., with Rosary prayers at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. If desired, donations to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, would be greatly appreciated.
